For this commission, a lady wanted to update her hallway while still keeping the existing pieces of furniture. She had a gorgeous natural wood unit alongside a stool that she uses everyday to do her hair in the mirror as well as having a nice little spot to put her shoes on before she goes out. She knew she wanted the unit to be cream with an exposed top; for the chair she wanted the same colour for the wooden base with a green fabric for the upholstery.
From the brief, a range of paint swatches, fabric samples along with images of handles were sent for her to choose from so that the finished product would compliment her hallway as well the piece of furniture itself. For the exposed wooden top, after being lightly sanded to soften away the wear and tear, it was then treated with a protective wax to bring out the natural wooden grain.
Sometimes we love the furniture we have already, it just needs a new lease of life!
